Enrollment For 2026-2027 Opens February 1, 2026
Our academic program is designed to prepare students not only for their next grade level, but for long-term success as capable, independent, and confident learners. We foster a growth mindset from the earliest years, encouraging students to approach challenges with curiosity, resilience, and the belief that effort and perseverance lead to improvement.
Instruction is grounded in the Ontario Curriculum, providing families with the assurance that students are meeting provincial standards and are well prepared for a smooth transition to public or independent secondary schools. This strong academic framework is enhanced through small class sizes, subject-specialist teaching, and enriched programming that extends learning beyond the basics.
To support strong home–school communication, we use Edsby and Google Classroom to keep parents informed, engaged, and connected to their child’s progress, assignments, and classroom learning in real time
Our academic program is guided by clear, purposeful goals that reflect both high standards and the realities of modern family life. We strive to:
Our Early Reading program is rooted in a systematic, phonics‑intensive approach aligned with the Science of Reading. Students develop strong foundations in phonemic awareness, decoding, spelling patterns, and fluency through explicit, sequential instruction and carefully matched decodable texts.
We administer DIBELS and Science of Reading–aligned screeners to monitor progress and provide timely support where needed. Comprehension, vocabulary, and language development are integrated throughout the program to ensure students become confident, capable readers.
Our Mathematics program follows a balanced approach that integrates conceptual understanding and procedural fluency.
We use a combination of Saxon Math, Jump Math, Math Makes Sense, daily problem sets, spiraled review, and unit‑based learning. Saxon Math is emphasized in the upper grades.
Our Science program follows the Ontario Curriculum while offering extensive hands‑on, inquiry‑based learning. Students work in a dedicated STEM space on experiments, collaborative projects, and engineering challenges. Outdoor learning opportunities further extend classroom concepts into real‑world contexts.
Students engage with a wide range of classic and contemporary texts. Instruction blends traditional literary analysis with thoughtful discussion of themes, perspective, and real‑world connections. The program builds comprehension, communication skills, and a lifelong appreciation for reading and writing.
Using an Expanding Communities framework, students explore family, local, national, and global contexts. The program incorporates geography, history, civic responsibility, Indigenous perspectives, and global awareness.
Music is taught three times per week and is a core part of our academic program. In the upper grades, students participate in a full instrumental band program in which every student selects and learns an instrument through Long & McQuade.
Led by a professional musician, the program emphasizes musical literacy, collaboration, listening skills, and performance. Students learn to rehearse as an ensemble, challenge themselves technically, and develop confidence through regular practice and group instruction. The band performs twice annually for families, giving students meaningful opportunities to showcase their progress and accomplishments.
This immersive approach ensures that every student experiences the discipline and creativity of instrumental music as part of their education.
Students participate in a structured conversational French program, building practical speaking, listening, and comprehension skills beginning in the early years.
Students learn digital literacy, research skills, multimedia presentation, and responsible technology use.
Our studio‑based program includes visual art, drama, and music, enriched by artist studies and multicultural perspectives.
Our Physical Education program is supported by both a dedicated on‑site gymnasium and generous outdoor play space, allowing students to remain active throughout the year.
Students build fundamental movement skills through structured activities that promote coordination, balance, teamwork, and confidence. As they progress through the grades, students apply these skills in a wide range of sports and fitness activities, including basketball, soccer, baseball, volleyball, tennis, and conditioning programs.
Regular access to indoor and outdoor facilities allows the program to remain dynamic, varied, and responsive to student interests.
